Dual Diagnosis
Sometimes mental health problems are coupled with alcohol, tobacco and other drug addictions. An individual with mental retardation or other developmental disabilities may have mental health problems, too. Typically, a dual diagnosed consumer has to seek out the service of two different health professionals. But at Mercy Behavioral Health, staff are specially trained to help people with more than one diagnosis.
Mercy Behavioral Health provides support services at Drop-in Centers, which serve the homeless as well as those with mental health problems. Members of Mobile Crisis, Community Treatment Teams, Psych Rehab Units, travel out into the community to deliver services to those who are homebound or in the hospital.

Residential
At Mercy Behavioral Health, there are many types of residential options to serve specific consumer needs. We offer very structured programs, where a psychiatrist, nurses, physician and counselors are available on site, but also have programs suited to individuals who require little supervision. One of our residential programs is for people with both mental health and addiction problems. Another targets consumers requiring personal care services in addition to room and board.
We also offer Respite, which is a brief (maximum 30 days) stabilization treatment.
All program residents must be at least 18, with a serious or persistent mental illness.
A residential liaison will help explain what choices are available and assist you with the paperwork process.
