Behavioral health is a modern term that describes an assortment of programs and services to assist individuals with mental health concerns and/or alcohol, tobacco and other drug addictions. Mercy offers behavioral health services 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Our goal is to help people with mental illness, mental retardation, and/or addiction issues thrive within their communities. We provide individuals and families a full continuum of integrated services designed to meet their health care needs.
For immediate help with a crisis, 24 hours per day, seven days per week, call Allegheny Crisis Emergency Services (ACES) at 1-888-424-2287.
Community-based Services
Mercy Behavioral Health serves the greater Pittsburgh region by providing a full continuum of recovery-oriented, community-based mental health, mental retardation, and drug/alcohol treatment services including: crisis intervention, rehabilitation, support, education, outpatient therapy, and day, residential, and respite programs. From locations in many neighborhoods, we work to help improve the quality of life for people so that they will thrive in their communities.
In 2005 Mercy Behavioral Health received a three-year accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) in the following programs: Crisis Intervention: Mental Health (Adults), Crisis Intervention: Mental Health (Children and Adolescents), Crisis Stabilization: Mental Health (Adults), and Crisis Stabilization: Mental Health (Children and Adolescents). This represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded and demonstrates the organization's substantial conformance to the standards established by CARF.
